1 Organizations can communicate and interact with their customers and employees more easily and in real-time using email. instant messaging and social media. They can provide up-to-date information about the development, pricing and availability of their products and services.

2 Organizations can employ people in other countries. This allows organizations to be more selective when hiring and also be able to reduce its costs because people in some countries will accept lower wages than in other countries.


(e) Describe two challenges of using an acceptable behaviour policy with an online community. (4) 

1 Not everyone will be able to agree on the expectations.

2 Requires constant monitoring to ensure it is enforced and consequences are given out as a result of non-compliance.


(f) Explain two reasons why hosted applications are a better choice than local applications for editing graphics from a smartphone. (4)

1 A smartphone's storage might not be enough for storing graphics with large file sizes.

2 A hosted application server's processor will be more powerful than the smartphone's processor for graphics editing.
