Letta needs to increase the bandwidth of the connection and stop other devices using the network at the same time.


(d) Describe high latency. (2)

The delay in time for data to travel between devices.


(e) The hotel network manager has administrator privileges.

(i) Explain one reason an administrator would use a network operating system to manage users. (2)

Only certain users can access certain files because user permissions can be enforced.

(ii) Explain one reason why the network manager should back up data regularly. (2)

Data can be restored from the backup because physical hazards (fire/flood) can damage storage devices.


(f) The hotel staff use project management software.

State what is meant by the term 'critical path'. (1)

The shortest time a project will take to complete (if no problems or failure are experienced).
